provide social activities and peer support opportunities for adults with a mild learning disability.

Fill your days with fun at Fun Filled Days!

Fun Filled Days was established in 2018 as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company.

The main aim of the group is to provide social activities and peer support opportunities for adults with a mild learning disability.

The sessions are facilitated by a staff member, supported by volunteers and we regularly bring in support staff/sessional tutors with specific skills to enrich the experience of those we support.

These include a variety of crafters, forest skills practitioners, health professionals, food educators, dance tutors and much more. We are very much user led and design bespoke sessions to meet the needs of the group.

We meet regularly at our premises in Balby, and our varied programme focusses on,

• Life skills
• Combatting isolation
• Information advice and guidance
• Health and wellbeing and peer support

The main themes embedded into all our activities are around healthy eating, taking regular exercise, self-care, being kind to others, learning new things and being kind to nature and the planet.

We are an 18 years plus service and keep our groups sizes deliberately small to ensure a rich experience for all.

We enjoy many outings throughout the year and our Enterprise Project – Make, Create, Upcycle, Sell – works hard to raise additional funds.

Our Programmes

Fun Filled Days full day activities

Fun Filled Days full day activities

Fun Filled Days provides full day activities every Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm. This is a paid for service mostly funded by direct payments. We keep the numbers deliberately small (around 6) to enhance our client’s experience. We include breakfast and lunch in the day and provide many engaging activities from arts and crafts, cook, and eat, interactive games and outings. We aim to include the themes of healthy eating, taking regular exercise, self-care, being kind to others, being in nature and learning new things in all we do. Move and Mingle

We try to incorporate exercise into our weekly sessions include Move and Mingle and Walk and Talk.

Move and Mingle is a gentle chair based exercise class and the sessions improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mood while being gentle on joints and safe for all fitness levels.

Walk and Talk is a gentle walk around local green spaces including Edlington Pit Top Wood and Martinwells Lake. We enjoy the many benefits of gentle exercise whilst being in nature

20 ways to save our polar bears

This project was created by our group to help raise awareness and encourage people to take action to protect the environment.

We believe that small changes can make a big difference. Simple steps could include:

  • recycling more
  • using less gas and electricity
  • making and mending instead of throwing things away
  • using less water
  • eating less meat
  • walking more whenever possible

Together, we can all help create a greener future.

Tea with Friends

We also over additional events such as Tea With Friends and Welcome Space during the Winter months.
